Rabi Lamichhane and Chhabilal Joshi to appear in court today

  • Kathmandu, November 5, Former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, along with four other individuals involved in a cooperative fraud case, is set to appear in the Kaski District Court today.

    Lamichhane, who is also the former head of Gorkha Media and one of the accused in the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case, along with Chhabi Joshi, Lila Pahichhaini (linked to GB Rai’s financial dealings), and Ram Bahadur from Nature Herbs, will be presented in court, according to Kaski District Police Spokesperson DSP Basant Kumar Sharma.

    Since the investigation period expired during the Tihar holiday, the police are seeking an extension of the custody period, which is why they are bringing the accused to court today.

    Meanwhile, Lamichhane’s party, the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has announced plans for a demonstration in Pokhara today. The party has claimed that Lamichhane’s arrest is politically motivated, and they are preparing for a protest along a 10-kilometer stretch.

    Lamichhane was arrested at the party office in Kathmandu.
